What is Silid Aralan Inc.?
(Silid Aralan = Learning Room in Tagalog)
Silid Aralan is a supplementary school program that caters to underprivileged and academically-challenged in-school children and youth.
SAI trains children and youth to have passion for learning and then teaches them how to learn.
The children are taught after regular class hours through creative methods and appropriate lessons combined with enjoyable activities that build the childrens' confidence and courage.
In addition, SAI trains the students' parents, teachers along with student volunteers.
Parents of these children often find themselves unable to sustain their children's education financially. Even school supplies can be too much to manage financally.
Silid Aralan teaches parents to have their own small businesses in order to sustain themselves.
